Meet the Vice Chancellor
Kirsten K. Quanbeck is the Vice Chancellor for the Division of Equal Opportunity and Compliance (DEOC). She reports directly to the Chancellor and is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, where she provides advice to the Chancellor and other senior campus officials on matters of equal opportunity, affirmative action, discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence, including policy, programs, personnel actions, community relations, and state and federal laws and regulations. She serves as the university’s Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO), Locally Designated Official (LDO) for whistleblower and whistleblower retaliation complaints, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Officer. Vice Chancellor Quanbeck leads and oversees the following sub-units within the DEOC: Administrative Policies and Procedures, Compliance, Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, Public Records Office, Privacy, and Whistleblower Office.
Vice Chancellor Quanbeck earned a B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, a Master’s degree in Education from Saint Louis University in Missouri, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to joining UCI, she worked in the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy at the University of California, San Diego, and as a staff attorney at Michigan State University.
