OEOD Director, Kirsten Quanbeck

Kirsten Quanbeck

Vice Chancellor, Equal Opportunity and Compliance

Kirsten Quanbeck is the Associate Chancellor, Equal Opportunity and Compliance. She reports directly to the Chancellor and is a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, where she provides advice to the Chancellor and coordination and liaison with other senior campus officials on matters of equal opportunity, affirmative action, discrimination, harassment and sexual violence, including policy, programs, personnel actions, community relations, and state and federal laws and regulations. She serves as the university's Chief Ethics and Risk Officer (CECO), Locally Designated Official (LDO) for whistleblower and whistleblower retaliation complaints, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Officer. She provides leadership and management oversight of four units: The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, the Public Records Office, the Office of the Whistleblower, and the Administrative Policies unit. Kirsten earned a B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, a Master's degree in Education from Saint Louis University in Missouri and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to joining UCI, she worked in the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy at the University of California, San Diego, and as a staff attorney at Michigan State University.

OEOD Director of Compliance, Tawny Luu

Tawny Luu

Director of Compliance

Tawny Luu is the Director of Compliance in the Division of Equal Opportunity and Compliance. Tawny provides guidance and general oversight for the development, implementation, and ongoing administration and monitoring of practices which promote a comprehensive compliance program for UCI. She collaborates with UC and campus partners to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of a UCI compliance program. Tawny also serves as the campus principal point of contact for government investigations and inquiries for compliance-related matters. She has previously worked in the UCI Public Records Office and the Office of the Chancellor. Prior to joining UCI, she practiced law in California. A proud alumna, Tawny earned her B.A. from UCI, and has a J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

OEOD office manager, May Wang

May Wang

[she/her/hers]

Operations Manager

May Wang is responsible for overseeing general administrative operations for the Division of Equal Opportunity and Compliance, including purchasing, contracts, onboarding, payroll, budgeting, and serving as fiscal officer. She joined the division in June 2015. May came to UCI after 13 years of working in a private technology company located in the Irvine area. She received her B.A. in Brazil and has a diverse background in language, such as Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish.

Evelyn Anderson

Administrative Assistant

Evelyn Anderson provides administrative support to all areas of the Division of Equal Opportunity and Compliance, including reception services, scheduling, purchasing, KFS processing and other projects as requested.  Evelyn joined the division in November 2002 and has served several years as the division's Wellness Ambassador.
